Actor Krutika Deo made everyone sit up and take notice with her work in Sachin Kundalkar’s Rajwade and Sons (2015), and she’s currently basking in the success of Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar’s Bucket List, which stars Madhuri Dixit-Nene. With just four films under her belt, Krutika feels blessed and fortunate that she shared screen space with the diva. She says, “It was like a dream come true. I have been a fan of hers since childhood. I remember being so happy when I found out in the film Devdas (2002) that she is also a Kathak dancer. I hoped that I would meet her someday, but getting to work with her has been completely different.”
The actor says that despite her star status, Madhuri is completely down to earth and fun to be around. “She is a very sincere actor. She is honest and has no starry tantrums. She made everyone feel extremely comfortable on the sets and we really enjoyed ourselves during the rehearsals,” the Happy Journey (2014) actor says.
In fact, Krutika even changed the date for her wedding to actor Abhishek Deshmukh so she could shoot for Bucket List. She says, “I initially panicked about it, but my husband’s family was very supportive, and we immediately moved the wedding date to an earlier time. All went well, and I could not have asked for anything more.”
The actor is now looking forward to her next project, which is being directed by Simmy Joseph. She will be playing a rural girl who is abducted and thrown into the world of human trafficking. “It is something I haven’t done before. It is a dark and sad character and it’s very challenging. I’ve been on the lookout for such different and experimental roles.”
