Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi might reunite for Vikram Vedha sequel
If all goes well, the sequel of Vikram Vedha should be on its way. News also is that Hindi and Telugu remakes of the Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi starrer are being planned.
If you loved R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi locking horns in Vikram Vedha, it’s quite possible that they might reunite for the film’s sequel. In a recent interview to a popular entertainment portal, producer Sashikanth has hinted that if things work out, a sequel to Vikram Vedha could be made. “The film has a very ambiguous ending and a lot of people must be wondering what happened to Vikram and Vedha. There’s a possibility that a sequel could be made,” Sashikanth said, confirming talks for remake in Hindi and Telugu have begun.
Directed by Pushkar-Gayatri, the film stars Madhavan as an encounter cop and Vijay as a gangster. Inspired by the popular folklore of Vikram Betaal, its moralities riddles are applied to a police-gangster backdrop. Having earned over Rs 40 crore in its first week in cinemas worldwide, the film has impressed critics and audiences alike. Apparently, actors Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh are in talks for the film’s Telugu remake. If everything goes as planned, Madhavan might reprise his own role in the Hindi version of the film.
In the US, the film has emerged as the second highest grossing Tamil film after Baahubali 2 this year. The film also stars Shraddha Srinath, Kathir and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar in key roles.
