The song teaser of a new song Neethanae from Vijay’s upcoming film Mersal was revealed on Thursday. A soft romantic number, sung by AR Rahman and Shreya Ghoshal, is a tiny delight. Melodious and soothing, it sets the mood for the complete song, which will be unveiled today at 6 pm.

The video has stills from what looks like the song itself. Starring Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, it is quite obvious that it is a love ditty. The lovers have been captured sharing tender moments together and look to be in a happy space.

Mersal stars Vijay with see the actor playing three different roles -- a magician, a panchayat head and a doctor. All the three looks of the characters have been revealed. In the first poster, he was introduced as a panchayat head. Vijay can be seen twirling his moustache. The poster has a direct reference to the Jallikattu issue that raged in the state in January this year. The second poster -- that of the magician -- was intriguing with its red tone and playing cards flying around. The third look was revealed close to the release of the first single (Aug 10) from the film, Aalaporaan Tamizhan, which is all about Tamil pride. The poster shows Vijay playing Holi.

The film has music by AR Rahman, who is expected to perform at the film’s album launch on August 20.

Mersal stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen as Vijay’s love interests in his three roles. The film is expected to hit the screens around Diwali this year. Directed by Atlee, the film stars SJ Suryah as the main antagonist.
