Actor-director Prasad Oak made his directorial debut with Kaccha Limbu in 2017, which bagged the National Award for the Best Marathi Feature Film. Prasad has now begun pitching concepts for his next directorial and shares, “I can’t make every film dark, bold and with a message like Kaccha Limbu. I would love to direct a commercial comedy, thriller or mystery. I am working on four to five projects all of which are at a very nascent stage. I shall be announcing it soon.”

The actor was last seen in Viju Mane’s Shikari and is now awaiting the release of his historical war film Farzand. “I feel honoured to be a part of Dipgal’s (Lanjekar, director) film, because almost after a gap of 35 years we will be seeing a historical war film in Marathi. To add to it, I play a spy who was known for his disguises. I will be seen in a total of six avatars in the film,” adds Prasad.

The actor is not a fan of makeup and avoids the same for theatre and television. However, for the role of Bahirji Naik, Prasad had to patiently sit for over an hour for the application and then another hour for the removal. “We worked very carefully on the character sketch so it involved makeup, training of body language and voice modulation while dubbing. It has been a taxing yet an interesting experience.”

Prasad will next be seen in Anant Mahadevan’s Doctor Rakhmabai and another, titled 22 June.“Many of my films are stuck but I am hoping they will release soon. Also, my directorial took up almost three years of my time, so there was a gap. Now onwards there will more films,” he says.
