Vijay- AR Murugadoss film: Sonakshi Sinha or Rakul Preet to play female lead?

AR Murugadoss’s next with Vijay is set to go on floor by later this year and speculations are rife that the female lead could either be Sonakshi Sinha or Rakul Preet.

It has been confirmed that Vijay’s next film, slated to go on the floors later this year, will mark his reunion with filmmaker A.R Murugadoss after Thuppakki and Kaththi. To be bankrolled by Lyca Productions along with Sun Pictures, the project is tipped to be an action entertainer and is rumoured to hit the screens during Diwali 2018. Contrary to some rumours, the project won’t be a sequel to Thuppakki, and it is believed that Murugadoss is working on a fresh topic. While the cast and crew are yet to be finalised, it has been learnt that Murugadoss is in talks with Rakul Preet Singh and Sonakshi Sinha.

Having worked with both the actresses in Spyder and Akira, the Ghajini director is keen on roping in someone he has already worked with. “Murugadoss sir has both Sonakshi and Rakul in mind. He is yet to approach them with the offer. He is working on the final draft of the script and once done; he will approach them and see who will fit the bill. It’s not sure whether the project will feature two heroines,” a source close to Murugadoss said.

Vijay is expected to don a different look for the yet-untitled project which will be aimed to be made on a budget less than Spyder. G.V Prakash Kumar is the leading contender to be the film’s composer but Murugadoss also has plans to go with Anirudh Ravichander as his work in Kaththi is still considered exemplary.
