LOS ANGELES: South Korea’s Kim Si-Woo persevered through down-the-stretch jitters and a brief rain delay to claim his first USPGA Tour title at the Wyndham Championship on Sunday.
Kim earned his maiden win in spectacular fashion as he led the tournament since posting a course-record 60 in the second round.
He closed with a three-under 67 to run away with the title by five strokes over second place finisher Luke Donald.
NANDHIDHAA WINS SILVER IN JUNIOR CHESS
BHUBANESWAR: India bagged a silver and bronze medal in the World Junior Chess Championship which ended in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
PV Nandhidhaa won a silver in the girl’s section while SL Narayanan won bronze in the open section for the Indian contingent.
Jeffrey Xiong of USA won the gold in the open section with 10.5 points out of a possible 13 while Dinara Sadbakassova (9.5 points) of Kazakhstan won the title on the girl’s section.
RAVI TEJA HOLDS WANG HAO IN ABU DHABI
ABU DHABI: International Master S Ravi Teja got off to an impressive start, drawing with second seed Wang Hao of China in the first round of Abu Dhabi Masters.
On what turned out to be a marathon game, Teja was in his elements to make a mark in his first outing in one of the strongest Asian open.
