THANE: Hundreds of Class IX Physical Training (PT) students of a local school were stumped when asked to answer an exam question on “Who is Virat Kohli’s girlfriend?” The question also came with three helpful options, the names of film actresses: Priyanka (Chopra), Anushka (Sharma) or Deepika (Padukone). A leaked copy of the question paper of Chacha Nehru Hindi High School, Bhiwandi town, went viral on social media, with many questioning the relevance of a cricket-Bollywood star’s personal lives in a school exam. The annual exam was conducted on October 13 by the school. Despite repeated attempts, the school authorities were not available for their comments in the matter.
MATCH-FIXING WAS AT ITS WORST IN 1996: AKHTAR
KARACHI: Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar claimed that match-fixing was at its peak in 1996 and said the environment in the dressing room was far from conducive. “Trust me it was the worst possible dressing room environment at that time (1996),” Akhtar told a channel. “There was a lot going on than just cricket and it was difficult to focus on cricket in the dressing room. It was a bad environment.” The claims come just two days after Javed Miandad and Shahid Afridi settled a dispute which had the potential of bringing up the fixing scandal.
