MUMBAI: MS Thakur struck both the goals in Indian Navy’s 2-0 win over Central Secretariat in the Mumbai Hockey Association’s Super Division league at the Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, on Wednesday. The result took Indian Navy to the top of the seven-team league standing with 13 points from five games.

Earlier, Narad Bahadur’s hattrick powered Central Railway to a 7-1 win over Bombay Republicans. Mohd Nizamuddin struck two and Victo Singh and Rajendra Pawar added to the miseries of Republicans who scored one off the penalty spot through Kartik Sharma.

SHASTRINAGAR SCORE

Shastrinagar defeated Classic FC 2-1 in the Mumbai District Football Association’s Second Division league at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel, on Wednesday. Darryl Verghese and Binoy Pinto scored for the winners while Zahid Khan pulled one back for the losers.

SUMMER SHINES

Summer Gonsalves booted in both the goals in Companeroes’ 2-0 win over Rush Academy in the women’s league of the 15th Bandra West Football League.

Trevina Fernandes too struck a brace in Bandra Packers’ 2-1 win over Football Leaders Academy for whom Priya Tiwari was on target.

Women’s league: Kenkre FC 2 (Renuka Juvekar, Aaro Rawat) bt Sea View SC 0; Bodyline FC 1 (Reetika Sahani) drew United FC 1 (Jhanvi Shetty).
