The Age newspaper reported that beauty products company Garnier had decided not to extend its sponsorship of the grand slam event.

"Garnier has enjoyed its partnership with the tournament and has had five very successful years of involvement," said a statement by the company, published in The Age.

The newspaper said the tournament's other associate sponsor, GE Money, also recently announced they were not extending their sponsorship deal.
