FIFA World Cup 2022 Cameroon vs Serbia Highlights: SRB, CAM engage in 3-3 draw to stay alive in tournament

The referee blows the full time whistle as the match ends in a 3-3 draw. 

The first half saw Serbia come from behind to make it 2-1 at the halftime interval.

Cameroon then did something similar in the final half, as they scored two goals in the span of three minutes to level scores.

Cameroon get a freekick, just outside the box on the left side. However, the player goes for a direct attempt and rams it straight at the goalkeeper, which is nothing but an easy take for him.

Serbia are pressing hard for the ball, making life difficult for Cameroon at the moment. Quick throw-ins and freekicks. However, Cameroon are not giving up and are giving a strong fight.

Another dangerous attempt by Serbia as Mitrovic gets the ball inside the box, right in front of the goal. However, with plenty bodies around he misses the target by whiskers. The score remain 3-3 as six additional minutes have been added to the contest.

Cameroon get a throw-in near the Serbia D, but the ball is cleared and the opposition looks for a quick counter attack. They manage to do the same before one of the Serbian player is taken down, which results in a freekick. He then plays it quickly towards Filip Kostic, who instead of taking an attempt at the goal drills it in the center but finds no Serbian foot.

Cameroon are looking for a strong finish as they press inside the Serbia half. Georges Nkoudou takes a short corner, before he sends a cross, which is easily dealt by the defenders. 

Nouhou Tolo, then shows great intensity and wins the ball, despite losing control and sends another cross, which is again dealt easily by the Serbian defenders.

Both the teams are searching for a winner here as we reach the final 10 minutes and the stoppage time. Serbia are looking more threatening at the moment. 

But Cameroon have displayed equal intensity.

Cameroon are back in business as they score twice inside three minutes.

The first goal came off a counter attack as Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar, who was introduced as a substitute, runs with the ball before chipping  it over the Serbia keeper.

The goal was initially ruled offside but VAR overturned the call by the linesman.

Minutes later, Cameroon build another counter and Aboubakar is once again in action. This time he goes with the ball, penetrates into the Serbia D, before passing it to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on the left side. The forward then smashes it into the nets.

CAM 3-3 SRB

Cameroon are searching for an opener here, building attacks. This time Karl Toko Ekambi gets the ball on the left side, following which he enters the box but his shot is blocked easily by the Serbian goalkeeper.

Vital piece of defending by Milos Veljkovic inside his D, as he stops substitute Vincent Aboubakar's run with a slide tackle.

Cameroon loses the ball cheaply near the center line, following which Mitrovic builds an attack. He passes the ball towards right, who attracts the defenders and passes it back to Mitrovic. The striker then plays it to his left, who then passes it back to Mitrovic, standing in front of the goal but the goalkeeper not in the frame. Simple finish by Mitrovic as he taps in the ball to make it 3-1. 

CAM 1-3 SRB (53')

A brilliant through ball by Serbia on the left flank and it looked like the player would get to the ball. However, good pressing by Cameroon defender, manages to keep the scoreline as it is as Serbia concede a freekick.

Serbia are more composed in the second half, so far the ball has been kept at the Cameroon half for most part. But no attempts at the goal.

The players are back as Cameroon get the ball rolling in the second half.

Two more corners before referee blows the whistle for halftime. Serbia had a good chance to make it three as they had the number advantage. However, Mitrovic's attempt is blocked and pushed for a corner. 

Meanwhile, the action quickly shited to the other end, where Bryan Mbeumo gets a long ball, which is first cleared for a throw-in and Cameroon then manages to get a corner. 

However, no goal amount in both the setpieces as the referee brings the first half to an end.

Serbia equalise in the stoppage time of first half. A free kick for them slightly far from the D and Strahinja Pavlovic is the one who makes a connection. He heads the ball into the far corner to square things off.

Minutes later Sergej Milinkovic-Savic gives Serbia the lead as he drills the ball inside the goalpost from outside the box. 

CAM 1-2 SRB 

Serbia make another attack from the same direction but is comfortably handled by the Cameroon defender. 

Meanwhile, Cameroon makes a quick counter as Pierre Kunde rushes with the ball inside the Serbia D and takes an attempt at the goal. His shot is saved by the goalkeeper but he once again gets the rebound, but kicks it wide on the second attempt. 

Serbia are mostly building their attack from the left flank. Plenty of passes outside the Cameroon D, before a through ball is intercepted by a Cameroon defender. The score remains CAM 1-0 SRB as we inch close to halftime.

Cameroon continue to build attack as they switch the play from one side to the other towards winger Bryan Mbeumo. He takes a step of two before making a through pass, which is cleared for a Cameroon throw-in.

Cameroon take lead inside 30 minutes as Jean-Charles Castelletto converts from a corner. The setpiece taken by Pierre Kunde takes deflection of two Cameroon players, before landing at Castelletto's range at the far corner. A simple tap in for him at the end. 

CAM 1-0 SRB (29')

 A freekick for Serbia outside the D on the right side, however, none of the Serbian heads can make a connection to the ball, which then rolls away for a Cameroon throw-in.

The action now shifts to the opposite end, where Pierre Kunde runs with the ball before taking an attempt at the post. His shot is saved easily by the goalkeeper, as he punches it outside for a corner.

Cameroon fail to make anything out of the setpiece. 20 minutes in the clock as score remains 0-0.

Serbia get another opportunity, which comes off a deflection inside the Cameroon D. The Cameroon defenders fails to clear an incoming cross, and lands straight into Mitrovic's legs standing in front of goal. He, however, goes for power as the ball misses the target by inches.  

Nice work between Filip Kostic and Aleksandar Mitrovic, before Mitrovic makes a beautiful one two outside the opposition's D with another player. He gets the ball in an open space on the right side of the D, tries to curl it inside the far corner but the ball hits the post.

Cameroon make a few passes inside Serbia's half, before a through ball is directed towards Bryan Mbeumo. However, the pass is slightly heavy as the ball reaches the keeper, while Mbeumo doesn't bother chasing it.
