Mauresmo to face Pennetta in Fed Cup opener

Former top-ranked player Amelie Mauresmo was drawn to face Flavia Pennetta in opening singles of the Fed Cup first-round tie between France and Italy.

Former top-ranked player Amelie Mauresmo was drawn to face Flavia Pennetta in Saturday s opening singles of the Fed Cup first-round tie between France and Italy. Friday's draw also pitted French teenager Alize Cornet against Italy's Francesca Schiavone in the second singles match. In Sunday's reverse singles, Cornet will play Pennetta while Mauresmo will take on Schiavone. In the doubles rubber, the French pair of Severine Bremond and Nathalie Dechy will face Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.
