Nadal, the reigning Wimbledon and French Open champion, withdrew from last year's Thailand Open due to a knee injury.

In a statement issued Thursday, the Spaniard said "this year with my health and body in good shape, I am really looking forward to playing some great tennis for the Thai fans."

Del Potro, currently ranked No 7, has not played in a tournament since the Australian Open in January due to a right wrist injury.

The Thailand Open is held in Bangkok from Sept 24 to Oct 3.
