Robben, Ribery lead Bayern to 4-0 win

Arjen Robben scored twice to help Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim 4-0 in the Bundesliga today, when he and Franck Ribery started for the first time together this season.

Arjen Robben scored twice to help Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim 4-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday, when he and Franck Ribery started for the first time together this season. Mario Gomez, the top scorer in the German first division, made it 17 goals in 20 games in the second minute, Thomas Mueller doubled the lead, and Robben scored two fine individual efforts against the visitors.

Bayern moves up to third on 39 points, 12 behind leader Borussia Dortmund which plays at Kaiserslautern in Saturday's late game, and three behind Bayer Leverkusen which won 3-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt. Also Saturday: Schalke won 1-0 at home to Freiburg; Stuttgart lost 4-1 at home to Nuremberg; and Pierre Littbarski's first game in charge of Wolfsburg ended in a 1-0 home defeat to Hamburger SV. St. Pauli beat bottom side Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-1.
