Ryan Giggs to play dual role at Man United

Midfielder Ryan Giggs has been appointed player-coach at Manchester United, the English champions said on Thursday. He signed a one-year extension to his playing contract in March.

Midfielder Ryan Giggs has been appointed player-coach at Manchester United, the English champions said on Thursday. Giggs, 39, signed a one-year extension to his playing contract in March and will combine his new duties with being a member of the first-team squad. Former Welsh international Giggs said: "I'm really looking forward to working alongside David and the team."

Brazil in top 10
