The naming of a new railway station in Navi Mumbai as Dighe instead of Digha has sparked a controversy, with activists and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena questioning the change. The station is part of a $62m project to connect central and harbour railway lines, but despite the infrastructure being ready, trains are not yet stopping at the site. Critics have also raised concerns that the station's name does not reflect the area it serves. The matter has been referred to the state department for resolution.
