Devotees perform rituals on occasion of Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima is being observed across the country today, July 3. It is celebrated on the day of the full moon (Purnima) during the Ashadha month (June-July). The word "Guru" means teacher or spiritual guide, and "Purnima" means full moon. The festival is being celebrated with great fervour today in Prayagraj, the king of pilgrimages.
