Two held for ATM theft in Pune, stolen machine recovered from Mula-Mutha river

The two were among five people who were caught on CCTV cameras while uprooting the ATM in a Mahindra pick-up vehicle which was also stolen.

PMC to take legal action against Panchshil Group for cutting 500 trees ‘by mistake’

PMC’s move comes after unsatisfactory reply from Panchshil Group to civic body’s notice.
Alleged illegal razing of 500 trees at the natural bird sanctuary on the Mula-Mutha riverbank in Yerawada had highlighted the state of its neglect by the civic authorities. Pune civic body serves notice to Panchshil Group for ‘illegally’cutting down 500 trees

As per Section 8 of the Maharashtra (Urban Areas) Protection and Preservation of Trees Act, 1975, no tree owner is allowed to hack fully-grown, live trees without permission from the tree authority, irrespective of the reason.
