Preliminary investigations suggest fracture in tracks caused Bihar train accident

The accident took place at around 4am in Sonepur division, under the jurisdiction of the East Central Railway (ECR), about 50km from state capital Patna.

The ministry said in a statement Wednesday that it aimed to achieve full electrification by year-end “so that even if some states fall behind the internal target date they will still be able to complete the household electrification well before the official target date.”
