Delhi dust storm: People jog in front of ‘nearly invisible’ India Gate in viral video
A severe dust storm in Delhi and NCR has significantly reduced visibility across the region.
Delhi-NCR’s pleasant morning took a turn on Friday as a massive dust storm triggered a significant drop in visibility. The intensity of the storm was most apparent in viral clips from India Gate; the monument was so heavily shrouded in dust it nearly vanished from view, even as a few determined joggers were seen navigating the hazy landscape.
“In a sudden weather shift today, a dust storm has hit the national capital,” ANI wrote in a tweet sharing a video. The clip captures a scene from the India Gate.

Atul while speaking with PTI shared that though there was a dust storm, he enjoyed his morning outing. “The weather is changing every day, yesterday it was sunny, and today it suddenly turned cloudy with a dust storm. The weather is quite surprising these days, but it’s good for cycling.”
Jyoti, another person who faced cloudy skies and dusty winds during her morning walk said, "The weather is good, but I am facing some difficulty in breathing due to the dust. We need to do something about Delhi pollution."

A third morning walker Manmeet Singh said, “The weather is very beautiful. We are enjoying running in this weather. Running in cool breeze makes it much easier for us.”
“The national capital on Thursday recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius, 2.8 notches above the season's average,” PTI tweeted, citing India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the department, the conditions are likely to persist this week. However, cloudy skies are expected till April 6, Monday. There are also predictions of light rain and thunderstorms.
