Manta rays are incredible creatures that have the ability to leap out of water and glide through air for a few seconds - giving the impression that they are flying. The internet is filled with videos of the creatures and those clips are simply mesmerising to watch. Just like this video that shows a manta ray jumping out of water. What makes the video even more interesting is that a bird also flies by at the very moment the aquatic creature jumps out of the water.

The video was originally posted on an Instagram page called Life On Wrightsville. “Flying Manta Ray jumps like Jordan off the coast of Wrightsville Beach North Carolina,” says the caption posted along with the video. The clip, however, captured people’s attention after being reshared on Twitter. ““Hey bird, I can do that too” reads the tweet.

What is the video all about?

The video opens to show a bird flying over a waterbody. Within moments, the manta ray leaps out of the water towards the sky. It stays in the air for a few seconds, right beside the bird, before going back into the water.
