Actor Vatsal Sheth, who has been mainly working in television in recent years, had made the most of his opportunity to work with Bollywood superstars Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. And the one lesson he has learned from his industry seniors is remaining humble despite reaching the pinnacle of success, and maintaining a helpful attitude towards all.

“I look up to Ajay sir as my elder brother. His honesty is something that I admire. Despite being a huge star, he is down to earth,” says Vatsal, who worked with Ajay in Taarzan: The Wonder Car (2004) and was also an executive producer for U Me Aur Hum (2008), which Ajay starred in and directed. “He is extremely hardworking and dedicated to his job. Once, he was not well, and I told him, ‘Why don’t you call and tell them that you’re not well and take the day off’, and Ajay sir told me that he couldn’t because that would affect the film. He said that the entire unit was waiting for him, so he would have to go.”

Vatsal recalls a similar experience with Salman, with whom he worked in Jai Ho (2014). “I’m pretty close to him. What I love about Salman bhai is that he’s one superstar minus any ego,” says the actor. “And you see people around, who haven’t achieved much in life, yet their ego is too strong. I remember, once he told me that working every day is very important, no matter what. He told me that he loves his job as he gets to travel to new places, gets to eat good food and comes to know about new things…”

Talking about working with them again, Vatsal says, “Yes, I would love to. Every time I work with them, I learn something new. So, I definitely look forward to collaborating with them soon for something.”

There’s one more actor he wants to work with and that’s Kajol. “She’s a fantastic actor, so natural and amazing. I got the opportunity to share screen space with her in U Me Aur Hum. I was Ajay sir’s body double, when he was busy directing scenes that needed him and Kajol ma’am,” he says.
