There were reports that you are interested in bringing Parichay back for a second season. Is that happening?
Not really. I had got in touch with the channel and the production house and they haven’t given us any positive feedback. It doesn’t matter if the fans want it or if I want it. If the channel isn’t going to air it, no one can do anything about it. However, I think whatever potential the show had, has been explored.

How did you feel when the show went off air?
What usually happens is that you hear rumours. We heard them, but the show wasn’t doing badly in terms of TRPs. So we assumed they were just rumours. When Parichay’s timing was changed from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm to accommodate Bigg Boss, there were no promos to announce the change. This was strange, because channels always promote upcoming tracks of their shows. And when that’s not happening, you know something’s wrong. But the show had a massive fan following. Even today, wherever I go, people talk to me about it. I personally feel there is more to Kunal (Samir’s character). His character can be explored further.

What are you working on currently?
I have signed a thriller TV show. I play the main lead, a character that is dark and edgy with a soft side as well. I can’t reveal any more details but yes, it’s a good change for me. People who liked me in Parichay should like me in this one too. I have also signed a film, which is tentatively called Love Ka Breakup. However, it has been pushed back for some reason. It should be back on track soon.
