Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been associated with Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) since its inception in 2000, has just wrapped up the sixth season of the game show and says while shooting the last episode, there was "a feeling of great remorse".

The last episode will be telecast on Republic Day Jan 26.

"The season endeth here of KBC! A sadness prevails and there is a feeling of great remorse...," Amitabh posted his Facebook page Sunday.

Amitabh's down-to-earth attitude and ability to connect with the contestants as well as the audiences effectively are the qualities that helped him become the star on the small screen too. His popularity motivated the producers to hire him again and again.

Out of the six seasons, the 70-year-old hosted all of them except for the third one, for which Shah Rukh Khan had slipped into the host's chair in 2007.

"A feeling that cannot be described in words... it is the audience that comes so religiously and stays so calm and disciplined... thank you all ... I hope I can be back with you soon... love to all," he wrote.

The sixth season of KBC went on air Sep 7 last year and during the show, Kashmir-based Manoj Kumar Raina won Rs.1 crore,
