Reality shows are huge in India and channels are scurrying to land the biggest concepts of international hit shows. The latest to join the bandwagon is a cooking-based game show, Come Dine With Me. It has been running successfully in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, and is now in India, with Life OK getting the show on board.

The concept of the untitled show is to have four or five popular television personalities meet for dinner, with one of them playing the host, who will not only cook a three-course meal, but also engage with his or her guests. After dinner, the guests will judge the host on food, entertainment and hosting skills.

An insider reveals, “The show is produced by Miditech and they have shot a pilot with Ragini Khanna, Manoj Tiwari, Urvashi Dholakia and Mahi Vij among others. They have also approached other actors including Kushal Punjabi, Abhinav Shukla, Vahbbiz Dorabjee, Mouli Ganguly and Munisha Khatwani for it.”

The show is still in the nascent stage, with details yet to be worked out. But it will be shot in the houses of these television stars, which will be an added incentive for fans, who will get a peek into their favourite stars’ homes.
