Of course marriage is on the cards: Upen and Karishma

Actors Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna who met on Bigg Boss and got engaged on Nach Baliye say marriage will ­happen, but insist that ­marital status doesn’t matter.

They fell in love during the last season of reality show Bigg Boss, and got engaged on the sets of another reality show, Nach Baliye, a few months later. We talk to the much-in-love couple about their ­marriage plans and more.

You have been dating for a year now. What is it that you love about each other, and what would you like to change?

Karishma: I love that he is a thorough gentleman and takes care of me and my family. I dislike the fact that he thinks too much.

Upen: I love everything about her and I don’t think there is anything that I would like to change. I think it’s important to ­accept each other the way we are and grow with it.

Is marriage on the cards?

Karishma: Marriage is on the cards, but we are busy with our careers. We are in a committed relationship, so marriage does not matter so much to us at this point.

Upen: We would like to get married, but there are a lot of things which are going on. We have not set a date as yet.

What is the secret to a happy ­relationship?

Karishma: It’s important to just sit down with each other and try to solve whatever problems you are having.

Upen: It’s important for every couple to find their balance and ways to communicate with each other.

What are the best gifts which you have given each other?

Karishma: The fact that Upen made me meet his family in the first month of our ­relationship, meant a lot to me. I also loved the commitment ring which he gave me. My best gift to him would be myself! I have taken him for a holiday to Udaipur.

Upen: I guess it would have to be our engagement rings.

Karishma Tanna’s engagement ring means the most to her.
