Read on as your favourite small screen stars reveal their navratri plans, and tell you why they love the festivities so much
I think I am extremely lucky that my show Saath Nibhana Saathiya is based on a Gujarati family We not only get to enjoy all festivals on the sets but also dress up and play the part. The show has some very interesting sequences around Navratri and all important rituals including pooja, garba, dandiya will be arranged for on the sets. I don’t feel like I am away from my family thanks to my Saathiya family.
Working on the show (Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi… Meri Bhabhi ) that has a big joint family has its own advantages. Kanchi (Kaul) and I have already decided to have girls versus boys dandiya session after our shoot on the sets with the team. The most exciting part will be to dance with Kawaljeet sir and Supriya ji who believe in everyday should be a celebration! We are sure that they will give us a tough competition.
Navratri is my most favourite festival in the entire year. I love the music and dance that is such an integral part of the celebrations. This year, I will be unable to celebrate Navratri on as large a scale as I normally do, because I will be shooting. However, I will take part in the celebrations with my family and friends whenever time permits.
This is the first time I will be dressing up in an authentic Gujarati style for Dandiya thanks to my show Saraswatichandra. The show has an exclusive celebration during Navratri and we all are excited about the same! I am sure our viewers will love to see the festive spirit on our show, we may have something planned to make this a grand celebration.
Though we play sisters-in-law in my show, Esha & I have become really good friends. Navratri always brings in a lot of excitement for me. I wish we get some time off and get to go out during the festival. When I was in college, my friends and I always made it a point to dress in the traditional ghaghra choli and visited dandiya functions.
This Navratri most probably, I will be in the Capital to promote my television show Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara. I will make sure that I take some time out of my schedule to visit some pandals there as I have got some invitations from my friends. We’ll meet them all on this auspicious occasion.
