Punjabi boy Vipul Mehta, who has won the singing reality show Indian Idol 6, says it’s like a dream come true.

“I feel out of the world. I was quite apprehensive till I was declared the winner. But the day was mine and I am feeling on top of the world,” says the 22-year-old graduate from Amritsar.

He defeated Devendra Pal Singh and Amit Kumar to win a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and a contract for his own music album. When asked how he will spend the money, he says, “I will donate some amount to an orphanage and a blind institute.”

He also wants to gift the car he won to his grandfather and buy a brand new SUV. Mehta plans to shift base to Mumbai to pursue playback singing for Bollywood films.
