Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s Akshaya Naik takes on body-shamers

Akshaya Naik, who plays Ananya in popular TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is fed up of trolls and body-shamers. In a message posted on her Instagram account, Akshaya has called out people who force women to look “perfect”.

Naik writes, “We, as women, need to get out of this entire nutshell of being perfect. Unfortunately, perfection has always been portrayed as fair, slim, wearing fully covering clothes, well mannered and obedient. Well, we need to overcome this.”

“You have given me more courage to accept myself and love my body. Be the queens of your life and let no one conquer you,” she adds.

We, as women, need to get out of this entire nutshell of being PERFECT ! Unfortunately, PERFECT has always been portrayed to be fair, slim, wearing fully covered clothes, well mannered and obedient. Well, we need to overcome this. As long as you love yourself, you are PERFECT and noone has the right to destroy your self confidence to be WHO YOU ARE.
