Watch: India receives first shipment of Covid aid from UK, MEA tweets pictures

  • The first shipment of Covid medical supplies from the United Kingdom reached India. Reports suggest that about 100 ventilators & 95 oxygen concentrators were part of the shipment. Pictures of the consignment being unloaded from a German Lufthansa aircraft in New Delhi were tweeted by Foreign ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi. UK is among the many countries to announce assistance to India in tackling the second wave of the Covid wave. According to the British High Commission in New Delhi, nine airline container loads of supplies, including 495 oxygen concentrators, 120 non-invasive ventilators and 20 manual ventilators, will be sent this week.
