Actor Amitabh Bachchan received the highest honour of the Indian film industry on December 29, 2019. He was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke award by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. The ceremony took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. Amitabh Bachchan's wife, Jaya, and son Abhishek, were also present at the event. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar, also attended the ceremony. The Dadasaheb Phalke award signifies outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema and consists of a Golden Lotus and a Rs 10 lakh cash prize.
