Heavy security was deployed outside IIT Bombay in Mumbai following protests linked to the IIT Bombay student suicide case. Students, parents and other demonstrators had gathered seeking action in the case and demanding the resignation of Professor Suryanarayana Doolla, who has since been suspended from the deanship.
