‘India and Uzbekistan standing firmly against terrorism’: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India and Uzbekistan are standing together firmly against terrorism and have similar concerns over radicalism, separatism, extremism and fundamentalism. PM Modi attended a virtual summit with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on December 11. He also said in order to restore peace in Afghanistan, negotiations must be Afghan-led, Afghan-owned and Afghan-controlled. PM Modi also said that India wants to further deepen its development partnership with Uzbekistan, and cited growing cooperation between the two sides in diverse sectors including defence and agriculture.
