The Supreme Court will pass a detailed formal order on the issue of banning Sardar or Sikh jokes on Monday. Earlier, the apex court refused to issue detail guidelines on the same. During the hearing, the apex court observed that it had no right to frame guidelines on the issue and asked the aggrieved to opt for an alternate mechanism like 66A of the Information Technology Act 2000 or to seek justice under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Former additional solicitor general, Harvinder Kaur Chowdhury is actively crusading to get Sardar jokes banned. Watch the video to find out why.
