Modi’s Mid-East push: UAE honour, 1st Indian PM visit to Bahrain on cards

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in the last week of August. He will be making a state visit to UAE between August 23 and 24, and then will be flying to Bahrain. This will be the first trip to Bahrain by any Indian Prime Minister. In UAE, PM Modi will be conferred with the Order of Zayed, the nation's highest civilian honour. The award was announced in April 2019 in recognition of PM Modi's efforts to boost bilateral engagement between UAE and India.
