Mumbai has been reeling under heavy showers leading to waterlogged roads. The city surpassed 2,000 mm rainfall mark and covered 91.4 per cent of the season's average rain. Santacruz weather observatory recorded 2,117.8 mm rain from June 1 to August 2. The weather bureau has issued a 'red alert' (extremely heavy rain) warning for Saturday and Sunday. This is the wettest July since 1901 when the city rainfall was first recorded.
