Watch: How Indian soldiers are tested before deployment at Ladakh forward bases
Soldiers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police underwent medical tests before reportedly being deployed at forward bases in Ladakh. Their body temperature was checked amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Other vital parameters were also checked by medical personnel wearing masks and protective equipment. The soldiers also wore masks and practised social distancing. India is boosting security deployment along the Line of Actual Control amid tension with China. On September 7, Beijing attempted to raise the temperature at the disputed border again. Indian Army said that Chinese soldiers tried to close in on its forward position at LAC and also opened fire as an intimidation tactic. However, Indian soldiers acted with restraint and maturity, said the Army. The latest face-off occurred days after Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met his Chinese counterpart in Moscow. External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is also set to meet the Chinese foreign minister soon. Watch the full video for more.
