90% of rapes consensual: Haryana leader

In a shocking comment on the recent incidents of rapes in Haryana, Congress leader Dharamvir Goyat blamed women and said that 90 per cent of rapes were consensual. Speaking to reporters in Hisar Goyat made this strange remark. Meanwhile, launching a scathing attack on Goyat and the Congress, senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Brinda Karat said that the party does not seem to have respect for women and had a medieval way of thinking. However Congress leader Jagdambika Pal said that Goyat's views are his own and do not reflect the ideology of the party or the Haryana government.
