6.30 am: His mom sounds the alarm. The world seems a little out of focus, the depth of field is fairly low and it takes time to recharge my batteries.6.45 am: This is his time for multi-tasking. Coffee with newspapers, packing the must-haves in his bag, a quick shower and shave7.15 am: On the highway, gearing up for a 45-mins ride to the studio. It's usually a smooth ride as the road is relatively free of traffic at that hour.8.15 am: He reaches the studio, takes a deep breath and composes himself for the day's work. Then dash for the shooting spot, which if he's lucky is close to his studio in Matunga.8.45 am: Breakfast at the shooting spot; anything that's light, may be poha.9-9.15 am: The crew and the models reach the spot. Quick discussion with them about the photoshoot. Oversees lighting set-up, makes a couple of phone calls.10.15 am: The photo-shoot begins. There's hardly any time to breathe.2 pm: Lunch break. This time it's a weighty affair, and most likely to be a North Indian thali. There has to be desserts in the final course. Again some quick discussions about the shots to follow.3pm: Back to work, clicking to the best of his ability6.30 pm: Pack-up, check the cards containing the images of the day, check the back-up of the images shot, plan for the next day.7 pm: Come back to the studio. Process the data in my computer, pack everything for next day's shoot.8.30 pm: Head for home, dog-tired, barely able to keep his eyes open.10 pm: Light dinner, chat with the wife, tell her all that has happened at work. The world suddenly starts getting blurred again. Sleep strikes in no time.10.10 pm: The world is a huge blackhole.
