Delhi turns into fortress as anti-rape protests swell across country

The authorities restricted movement in New Delhi on Monday shutting roads and metro stations in a bid to restore law and order after police fought pitched battles with protesters enraged by the gang rape of a young woman. Police barricaded roads leading to India Gate that has become a hub of the protests by mostly college students.
