Farmers in Gujarat lament over loss of produce due to drought

Poor monsoon rains have resulted in the loss of standing paddy crops cultivated in Ahmedabad district in Gujarat. The troublesome situation for farmers comes despite the area falls under the category which is to get irrigation water from the much publicised Narmada Sarovar Project.
