Pollution level rises after Diwali in Delhi

A day after the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, the level of pollutants in the air shot up due to excessive use of fireworks in Indian capital New Delhi. Diwali, celebrated every year in the month of October or November, usually marks a rise in the air and noise pollution level. Bursting firecrackers is a significant tradition of the festival.
