Gir sanctuary welcomed furry inhabitants into its feline pride on Thursday after four lionesses gave birth to 11 cubs in Gujarat. The cubs are reportedly healthy and have been filmed by officials. Deputy conservator of forest, Gir National Park, Sandeep Kumar said the lionesses had given birth in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. Three lionesses gave birth to three cubs each while the fourth one gave birth to two, he added. The positive news comes in the wake of 10 Asiatic lions being washed away in the flash floods that hit Gujarat last month.
