WB govt grants land, rice subsidies to Maoist-affected villagers
In its continuing effort to prove aid to Maoist affected people, authorities in rebel-hit areas of West Bengal have now started distributing rice at subsidized rates of Rs 2 per kilo, along with land deeds to villagers. The state-sponsored programme covering West Midnapore district of the state aimed to give opportunities to the villagers holding social security cards. Authorities said they covered 65 families on the first day of the programme.
