Security has been significantly tightened across Srinagar ahead of India's Independence Day celebrations on August 15, with authorities increasing surveillance, deploying additional security personnel and intensifying vehicle checks across key locations.
The heightened security also coincides with the seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, which revoked the erstwhile special status of Jammu & Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
Visuals from Srinagar show security forces conducting patrols, setting up checkpoints and monitoring sensitive areas as part of precautionary measures to ensure peace and maintain law and order ahead of the national celebrations.
