Congress, TMC Target EC Over 7-Phase Polls; Telangana CM Stung By 'Bade Bhai' Modi

In a major development, the opposition parties took aim at the Election Commission shortly after dates for 2024 ls polls were announced. Congress slammed the poll schedule, calling it a bid to facilitate the PM's campaign. TMC also hit out at the EC for the seven-phase polls. Meanwhile, the EC while announcing the LS poll schedule shared an all-phase map. The map showed the total number of constituencies in India as 544 instead of 543. CEC Rajiv Kumar explained that one parliamentary seat of Manipur will go to the polls twice.
