India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit. The two leaders have agreed to direct their officials to intensify their peace efforts. During the meeting, both Modi and Xi agreed on expeditious de-escalation in Ladakh. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Modi and Jinping had a candid and in-depth exchange on current China-India relations.
