The Russian arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, has confirmed that the production of AK-203 assault rifles will begin in India by the end of this year. An Indo-Russian joint venture will begin manufacturing AK-203 assault rifles at the Korwa Ordnance Factory in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district, said the Director General of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, to news agency PTI. The 7.62 x 39mm calibre AK-203 rifles will replace the INSAS rifles that have been in service for over three decades in the Indian armed forces. Watch this report for more information.
