Made-In-India LCA Tejas to get powerful boost with ‘Aatmanirbhar’ technology | Explained

In a major boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight test of the power take-off (PTO) shaft on the light combat aircraft Tejas. The PTO is critical equipment that transmits power from the aircraft engine to the gearbox. It was designed and developed in-house by the Defence Research and Development Organisation's Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), Chennai. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh complimented the DRDO, saying that the successful realisation of the PTO shaft is another major milestone towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
