Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping were seen shaking hands and interacting after the conclusion of the closed-door session for BRICS member countries at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. The brief interaction between the two leaders comes as India and China seek to build on recent efforts to stabilise bilateral ties. Modi and Xi are also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit, with the two sides expected to discuss the overall relationship, including the boundary issue and measures to strengthen engagement.
