US president-elect Joe Biden made another high profile appointment of an Indian-American. Joe Biden chose Vanita Gupta to be Associate Attorney General in his government. Joe Biden's vice president is Kamala Harris, whose mother was an Indian. Vanita's relatives in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh rejoiced at the news. "Yesterday, US President-elect Joe Biden nominated my niece Vanita Gupta for Associate Attorney General of the United States. It is a matter of pride for us and for the country that she has been nominated for such a big post,” said Sarvesh Kumar, uncle of Vanita Gupta. He added, “Her father and both grandfathers belonged to Aligarh. When Vanita was a child, she used to play with us. ” Watch the full video for more.
